The bar plot in (C, D) shows the equivalent analysis for Caco-2 cells. A humanized control antibody targeting trinitrophenol (TNP, not expressed by mammals) was used as a parallel control (B, E). TNP was also tested by immunofluorescence staining, which showed no binding or internalization into the examined cell layers. Statistical significance was determined using ordinary two-way ANOVA test based on three independent experiments
