The X-axes represent the recombination distance in centi-Morgans (cM). a: plot for male rats and b: for female rats (solid line). The horizontal dotted line represents the score required for suggestive significance (1.9) and the solid line the score for full significance (3.3). The two graphs are quite different for males and females with the males reaching a score indicative of full significance (3.43) in the same location as the map for both sexes combined (dotted line, LOD = 3.81).
