Jeong Hun Kim, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Department of Ophthalmology & Biomedical Sciences at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, is a clinician-scientist of 10 years’ experience in the field of the blood-retinal barrier (BRB) and retinal angiogenesis-related retinopathy (Retinopathy of Prematurity, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-related Macular Degeneration as well as Retinoblastoma), with >100 publications and reviews. As a young clinician-scientist, he has led a translational research laboratory of Fight-against Angiogenesis-Related Blindness (FARB) Lab since 2009. His research interests are as follows; 1) Blood- Retinal Barrier: Regulatory mechanisms to form and maintain blood-retinal barrier at the interface of neurogenesis, gliogenesis and angiogenesis, 2) Retinal vascular diseases including: retinopathy of prematurity, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, 3) Tumor angiogenesis in retinoblastoma, and 4) Normal eye development.
