CSF Extraction Technique from the Choroid Plexus. The lateral ventricle is filled with oil and a pipette is placed in close contact with the choroid plexus while the oil–water meniscus moved upwards into it. Based on the property that water has greater affinity for the charged glass surface, the CSF can enter the tube and the level of oil would then rise. The CSF production rate is calculated according to the change in height of the liquid per unit time.
