BBB locomotor scores of the experimental group and sham groups weekly after induction of syringomyelia. Two-way RM ANOVA followed by a post hoc test using the Tukey test was used for intergroup comparisons. During the follow-up period of 8 weeks, the BBB score of the rats in the sham group did not change significantly, but in the first week, the locomotor function of the rats in the experimental group decreased significantly (BBB score decreased from 21.00 ± 0.00 to 17.95 ± 3.88), and there was a significant difference between the two groups. However, from the second week to the 8 week, the motor function of the rats in the experimental group gradually improved, and there was no significant difference from the sham group from the second week. This result shows that the motor function of the experimental group could recover spontaneously without treatment. ***P < 0.001
