A circuit analogue of the cerebral venous drainage and the CSF absorption, which illustrates the relation between venous pressure and ICP. The IJVs form a parallel circuit with the extra-jugular pathways (e.g. the vertebral venous plexus). The figure illustrates how dural venous pressure (P dural ) can be determined by following either of the possible venous pathways, and highlights the variable resistance of the collapsible IJVs.
