Inhibitory effect of intravenous pre-administration of cefmetazole or cefazolin on [3H]PGE 2 elimination from the brain of LPS-untreated mice in the presence of amiodarone. Either cefmetazole (200 mg/kg), cefazolin (200 mg/kg) or Ringer-HEPES were administered with amiodarone (20 mg/kg) or saline intravenously prior to intracerebral administration of [3H]PGE2 in mice not treated with LPS. The 100-BEI value was determined 40 min after intracerebral microinjection of [3H]PGE2. Each point represents the mean ± S.E.M. (n = 3 - 4).
