Dr Ken-ichi Hosoya is Professor of Department of Pharmaceutics, Graduate School of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Toyama.
His research interests are transport mechanisms and pathways of amino acids, vitamins, D-glucose, organic anions, and antiviral agents at the blood-retinal barrier. He has published 111 peer-reviewed articles and written 36 book chapters/reviews. He has been invited to speak on cellular and molecular biology of the blood-retinal barrier and drug delivery via blood-retinal barrier at domestic as well as international institutions, conferences and workshops.
Dr Hosoya received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Josai University, Japan. Dr. Hosoya received postdoctoral training in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (1994 -1997). He has taught at the Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan (1997-2000), as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics. He joined the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University (currently University of Toyama) in 2000, as Full Professor of Pharmaceutics.
