Weihong Pan received her MD from Fudan University Shanghai Medical College in 1990 and PhD in Neuroscience from Tulane University of Louisiana in 1997. She underwent residency training in Neurology at Tulane University and fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School. She has been a full professor of Neuroscience at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center (Louisiana State University System) since 2007. She has published 130 full papers and 12 book chapters, mainly on cytokine transport across the blood-brain barrier, neuroregeneration, and neuroinflammation. Her research is mainly supported by the National Institutes of Research. She provides service in the scientific community as a grant and manuscript reviewer, meeting organizer, associate editor for Peptides, Senior Editor for Current Pharmaceutical Design, and an editorial board member for 12 other journals.
